Vitamin E Effective Against Acquired Hemophilia

To illustrate that vitamin E normalizes blood clotting rather than merely prolonging it—as some drugs do—consider this observation by Dr. L. Tropeano. He reported in the Italian medical journal Progress In Medicine, Napoli (1948) the case of a patient with prolonged clotting time (fibrinopenic hemophilia) was normalized with vitamin E therapy. Formerly, the patient’s blood took twenty-four hours to clot, but after ten days of receiving 200 mg of vitamin E, clotting time was reduced to two hours. After twenty-five days, his blood-clotting time was further reduced to eighty minutes; finally, it was normal. (There has been to date, however, no known success with vitamin E for the normal, genetic form of hemophilia.) The list of others confirming the normalization of clotting time is long.

The clotting is important because, as pointed out in an earlier chapter, a clot in the heart produces coronary thrombosis and instant death; a clot in the coronary arteries can produce an infarct and severe heart damage or death; a clot in the cerebral arterial tree leading to the brain produces a stroke (cerebral embolism); and a clot in the lung results in the pulmonary embolism that kills approximately one out of every 200 patients operated on.

Faced with the facts about vitamin E and free-radicals and blood clots, one can only conclude that not to supplement your diet with vitamin E is a form of suicide.
